Last summer I canned like crazy.
Strawberry jam. Heavenly.
Apricot jam. My husband’s absolute favorite.
Plum jelly. Flip flop.
Twenty jars of plum “runny”.
There was no “jell” to be seen! What a waste of time and effort. Not to mention plums.
Some friends advised, Just re-can it and add more pectin! Others said it will never jell once it’s flopped.
So there they have sat atop my freezer since last summer.
Twenty jars of flopped plum jelly.
I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them.
Until this morning. I popped open a jar of the jewel-colored runny stuff and poured it over our breakfast of hot cereal.
Mmmmm. Plum syrup.
Can’t wait to try it over pancakes.
