I have something a little different to share with you on this edition of Freebie Friday.
This isn’t a bargain or freebie for you.
But it’s probably the best freebie I could share with you this Christmas.
It’s a way you can give a Christmas gift to a child who is fighting cancer, even without spending a penny.
It’s absolutely true!
Let me tell you how it’s possible…
Several years ago, when my friend’s two-year old son was battling cancer, I discovered Joy Jars.
Joy Jars were founded (and are funded) by the Jessie Rees Foundation.
Here are some amazing facts about Joy Jars.
And here’s what a family will receive when you nominate a courageous kid for a Year of Joy:
So what is a Joy Jar?
Simply a large, plastic jar filled with toys and other kid-approved goodies, stuffed with love and freely given to children who are fighting cancer.
To date, the Jessie Rees Foundation has given over 100,000 Joy Jars to brave kids who are fighting cancer.
The idea originated with Jessie Rees, a courageous, 12-year old girl whose family refused to let her dream fade even after Jessie lost her battle with brain cancer in January 2012.
This family’s story captured my heart.
Several years ago, a visit to our local children’s hospital a few weeks before Christmas etched vivid images of pain and compassion in my heart.
I wish I could give every child who is fighting cancer a Joy Jar at Christmas.
I can’t possibly reach every child, but I can reach the ones God has brought into my life.
I can share the opportunity with you.
And you can give and share too.
If you know a child who is fighting cancer right now, I hope you’ll check out the Jessie Rees Foundation and choose to send him or her a Joy Jar and nominate the family to receive a Year of Joy.
It’s literally as simple as clicking a few buttons on this website.
If you don’t personally know a child who needs a Joy Jar this Christmas, you can choose to donate so that others can send Joy Jars.
It’s amazing to me that anyone can send a Joy Jar completely free of charge.
How can we afford to not give this gift?
You can find more details about how to nominate a child for a Joy Jar right here.

Will you please pin this post, or share it on your favorite social media platform so that others can learn about this opportunity to give too?
Here’s to living, loving and giving well this Christmas,
