As a young wife and mom, I often felt lonely.
I didn't have many like-minded friends, and our little family lived far away from relatives and other support systems.
Through the window of the internet, I found connection, community and encouragement through reading blogs (and later, writing at my own blog).
It's true: nothing replaces face-to-face and heart-to-heart connections. But online communities can be the next-best-thing when you feel like you're doing life alone in a small corner of the world.
I currently have two private communities on Facebook, where you can connect with other women who share the same values as you do:
- Pastor's Wives @ Kristy's Cottage
- Homeschooling Moms @ Kristy's Cottage
Our Pastor's Wife Facebook group is over 800 women strong, and is exclusively for ministry wives. If you're currently serving in ministry alongside your husband, you can request to join here.
The Homeschooling Moms Facebook group is comprised of about 350 home educators, and is a great place to ask questions and find support in all things related to homeschooling. You can request to join here.
Please note that I personally moderate each of these private groups.
I created each of these communities in order to provide a place for like-minded women to connect and encourage each other.
I do reserve the right to decline admission if I feel like someone is not a good fit in any of these groups (i.e. if a man requests to join the homeschooling moms group... don't laugh, it happens!). Whenever necessary, I will also remove members or delete comments that are deemed inappropriate or divisive.
Thanks so much for your interest in being a part of one of the thriving Kristy's Cottage communities!
My prayer is that you will find a place to feel understood and encouraged.
Here's to living and loving well!
