A fun  aspect of raising and homeschooling young children is the training, teaching and developing of the youngest minds.

You know, the babies.

At just under eleven months old, our little Colton is at a prime age for learning and absorbing something new from everything and everyone around him.

As a family, it’s so much fun to watch him grow and explore!

Two of our most valuable resources for nurturing his little mind are his big sisters and brother, and learning toys and games.

I had the privilege of being asked by Timberdoodle to review their Tolo Shape Sorter Playbench.  (This item is no longer available at Timberdoodle, but you can view other related items here.)

As a member of Timberdoodle’s Blogger Review Team, I received a free shape sorter set in exchange for a frank and unbiased review.  The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

A few things we’re enjoying about this shape sorter:

*The shapes are bright and colorful and make a fun rattling sound when shaken… the perfect fit for curious little hands!

*Our girls, ages 7 and 5, enjoy playing with their little brother and helping him learn to bang the hammer, identify the shapes, etc.  It’s great interaction between our children!

*Our three-year old son enjoys using the soft-head hammer to bang the shapes through the matching holes… he loves using “tools just like Daddy.”

*Worthy of being mentioned is the fact that the hammer is attached to the playbench with a cord… no need to worry about it being misplaced.  🙂

The Tolo Shape Sorter Play Bench is one of the many useful items included in Timberdoodle’s Early Learning curricula (along with another of my favorite “tools” for little ones: My First Baby Signs board book collection.  More about that another time!)

I am a second-generation Timberdoodle customer; I remember leafing through my mom’s Timberdoodle catalogs as a kid!  🙂

If you’re not familiar with Timberdoodle, request a free homeschool catalog and get to know this fantastic company!

They are a must-have resource for every homeschooling family.
