I have a confession to make; this is not an easy one for me, considering I am a die-hard cloth-diapering-mama.
But the truth remains, Miss E’s diapers have been leaking for, well, months now. At night. Every night. Think wet sheets. Wet jammies. Yes, even wet socks.
I’ve been using the same cloth diapers with Miss E for well OVER a year and had NEVER had trouble with leaks, not even over night. My only conclusion was that she was drinking too many liquids before bedtime or had suddenly increased her wetting “quota” for some other unknown reason… or she needed an extra “boost” in keeping her drawers dry during the long hours of the night.
Cutting back on her evening liquid intake was no trouble. Finding a good diaper insert that worked proved a little more difficult.
I recently stumbled upon a wonderful website called Nurtured Family. I can’t even remember now where I first discovered a link to their site, but all that matters is they carry a diaper insert that works. Even on Miss E. Even all night.
The Countor Microterry Insert is made from four layers of super absorbent microterry and we’ve had not one leak since I started using these (over a month ago). They dry fast, fit superbly in our fitted diapers, and did I mention that they don’t leak?? Another reason I love them: you only need to use ONE insert and the diapers stay dry. I was having to use 2 or 3 of our other inserts at night and sometimes Miss E still had leaks.
These little babies cost $4.25 each… let me assure you they are worth every penny! The good news is you can become an affiliate with Nurtured Family and receive credit for your own purchases. Not bad!
If you’re a cloth-diapering mama I definitely encourage you to give these a try … they worked for me!
