Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. Psalm 92:3
I like that word.
It evokes images of a flower garden in mid-spring, bursting with vibrant color and fragrance.
It’s a beautiful visual of what Christianity should look like in “real life“.
And, if I can make a personal application, it’s a word picture of how thriving, Biblical womanhood is meant to play out in “the real world” (that’s right where you and I are living, by the way).
Growing. Reaching. Dancing. Vibrant. Joyous.
Truthfully, I don’t always feel like I’m flourishing.
Some days (a lot of days), I feel a little wilted and weary. And then there are THOSE days, the ones where I feel downright trampled by the demands of a busy life.
But God’s Word says I will flourish… if I am planted in the house of the Lord.
Planted (rooted, secure, faithful) in His Word. In His presence. And, yes, in His house.
This Saturday, our church is hosting it’s third annual Titus2 ladies retreat.
Our theme this year is “flourish”.
If the Lord slips my name into your thoughts this week, will you please pray for me?
- Pray that our church and community will be blessed and encouraged through this event.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to anoint our speakers.
- Pray for hearts to be open to the truths of God’s Word that will be shared.
- Pray for health and physical strength for my family to serve in this capacity.
I want to flourish as a godly woman. I want my daughters to flourish. I want every Christian woman to flourish, and to walk in the fullness of God’s abundant grace, joy, and love.
I don’t believe this is too hard a thing to ask of God.
When I look at the culture around me, it seems impossible.
When I look at the state of the church world, it seems impossible.
When I take an honest look in the mirror, it seems impossible!
But, through eyes of faith, I glimpse a vision of God’s amazing plan for us, His precious children; and it no longer seems impossible.
When I think of the greatness of this great plan I fall on my knees before God the Father… and I pray that out of the glorious richness of his resources he will enable you to know the strength of the spirit’s inner re-inforcement—that Christ may actually live in your hearts by your faith.
And I pray that you, firmly fixed in love yourselves, may be able to grasp (with all Christians) how wide and deep and long and high is the love of Christ—and to know for yourselves that love so far beyond our comprehension. May you be filled through all your being with God himself!
Now to him who by his power within us is able to do far more than we ever dare to ask or imagine—to him be glory in the Church through Jesus Christ for ever and ever, amen!
Ephesians 3:14-21 (Phillips New Testament)
I’m believing God for flourishing, godly womanhood!
Thank you for believing and praying with me!
