This morning, I sat down at my laptop and Googled: What is middle age?
Middle Age: the period between early adulthood and old age, usually considered as the years from about 45 to 65.”
I smiled a little and took a deep breath. Well now, I’ve still got a ways to go!
You see, I just celebrated a birthday on Sunday- my 35th birthday.
I’ve been amusing myself with the idea that I’m pushing “middle age.” But apparently I’ve still got about ten years to go!
It’s kind of fun to discover that you’re younger than you think! 😀
I love celebrating birthdays. Getting older just seems like another dimension of the adventure.
I wonder, What will I learn this year?
What great books will I read?
What inspiring ideas will I think? 🙂
How will life grow and stretch me into a better person?
The older I get, the more I find that people take me seriously… and that’s kind of nice.
At thirty-five, I’ve got a good decade of adulthood behind me and enough life experience to have something to offer to those coming up behind me.
Women tend to complain about the 30’s, but I love my age!
Sure, I’ve got a few wrinkles around my eyes and way more gray hair creeping into my hairline than I care to admit.
But this is life, no filters added.
I spent my 35th birthday keeping up with a typically busy Sunday, going home early from church with a sick child, then hanging out at home (in my pj’s) with my little people while Jeremy wrapped up the day-in-the-life-of-a-pastor.
Life doesn’t necessarily need filters.
The clutter is okay. The chaos is okay. The wrinkles and gray hairs are okay.
We are okay, aging bodies and all.
Every day is a gift to embrace, and even celebrate.
Maybe I was feeling a bit introspective with my birthday this week, but I decided to update my “about” page here at the blog.
I added a few new pictures, tweaked my bio, and just shared in a fresh, new way from my heart.
If you have a sec, I’d love for you to click over and read my Meet Kristy page… and then leave a comment over there and tell me something about yourself!
Do you relate to any of my random life experiences or quirky personality traits?
Are you middle age? 😀
Let’s chat for a few minutes, right here.
Life is too sweet to not stop and savor the little things about your day, about your life, about you…
