Here’s how to make your own “pedialyte”:
Pour 2 quarts filtered drinking water into a large pot.
Turn burner on low heat. With a whisk, stir in 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp sea salt.
Once those ingredients dissolve, add 7 TBSP raw honey and 2 TBSP flavored gelatin (I used strawberry).
Stir until well combined. Pour into a container or pitcher and chill. Serve cold.
You can make pedialyte “ice cubes” to put in your child’s drink to keep it cold, or freeze the liquid in molds to make popsicles.
When “cooking” your solution, be sure to keep the heat on low. You want the water just warm enough to help the other ingredients dissolve easily.
