Do You Ever Need Restored? | Minister’s Wife Monday
It’s Monday afternoon.
My Minister’s Wife Monday post was “due” (in my mind, at least) at 6 o’clock this morning.
What was I doing at 6 o’clock this morning?
I was sleeping.
Actually, I slept a lot over the weekend. Well, I laid in bed thinking about how much I needed to sleep.
A few days ago, I experienced one of those things I call “my crashes,” where my body and brain just give up and won’t go any further.
Thankfully, I don’t “crash” very often, but I did on Saturday. I woke up and couldn’t get up. So I didn’t.
Now, lest you come to the conclusion that I am direly ill, or neglecting my health, let me quickly say I am feeling better.
I rebound quickly, thank goodness. I’m doing my best to take care of my body and I’m feeling nearly back-to-normal.
But, honestly, today, I’m just a tired pastor’s wife.
A tired mama.
A tired sister and friend.
These kind of days remind me how much I lean on Jesus to be “enough” for me.
How much I need His love when mine runs dry.
How much I depend upon His strength when mine is spent.
How much I desperately need Him to restore me, in every way.
My sister, Julie, and I have been planning our church’s Titus2 Ladies retreat for several months, and the theme for this year keeps resonating with me more and more:
Do you ever need restored?
Built back up?
I sure do!
We’re all in this thing together.
We all get tired.
We all cry-it-out sometimes.
We all wonder where in the world we’re going to find the strength to keep giving when life has squeezed us dry.
Because life does squeeze us dry sometimes.
Demands more than we feel we have to give.
Pushes us to look long and hard at the source of our inner drive: ourself, or Him?
If you’re a woman in the DFW area, I’d love for you to consider joining us for our annual Titus2 Ladies Retreat on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
You can get more details right here.
Even if you can’t attend our one-day retreat, I hope you’ll say a prayer for us.
Pray for our speakers.
Pray for the women and girls who will attend.
And, if I may humbly ask, please pray for my sister and me as we wrap up the final details of this event.
Because this is an extra busy time of year for our family, I’m going to simplify things here a bit at the blog: over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing articles from our archives for our weekly Minister’s Wife Monday posts.
These will still be ministry focused posts, and I hope you’ll continue to find encouragement as a preacher’s wife here every Monday.
Thank you so much for reading, commenting, and sharing at my blog. I pray that you find encouragement and the restoring grace of Jesus in everything you read here.
Blessings on your week, sweet friends!
