This season is that time of year when I want to huddle close to home, near to my loved ones, and savor as much as I can about life.
With sickness interrupting the daily flow of our lives this week, the comforts of Home feel especially endearing right now.
Today, we celebrated our official Thanksgiving meal at home- just the eight of us (Jeremy, myself, our five children and my sister, Julie).
The quiet introvert in me relishes these home-centered celebrations.
As much as I love visiting with extended family and friends at noisy get-togethers, nothing nourishes my soul like sitting down to a feast- or even a simple meal- at my own dining room table with just my husband and kids.
Today we did that.
Enjoyed a feast of our favorite holiday foods, tucked into the comfort of our farmhouse dining room, at a table lit with candles and crowded with our just-for-special-occasions dishes.
I thought it would be fun to give you a peek at our day and share a few of our favorite holiday recipes!
We’ll be grazing on many of these goodies this evening again for supper. Then it’s time to transform the Thanksgiving tree into a Christmas tree, and decorate our house with holiday greenery, festive swags of holly berries, nativities, and the few wrapped gifts that I’ve stashed away.
I hope these recipes inspire you as you savor the joys and delights of Christmas with your loved ones this season!
(I’ll try to post recipes this month for as many of the un-linked recipes as I can.)
